Birmingham gospel music icon Dr. Eloise Ford Gaffney honored with a Love Day

The Birmingham gospel community joined together to honor icon, Dr. Eloise Ford Gaffney on Nov. 5. with a Love Day Celebration. Dr. Gaffney is the Chair of the famed Gospel Music Workshop of America’s Women of Worship (Order My Steps, When I Get Home, The Coronation), along with serving on the GMWA’s National Board and being the Birmingham Chapter’s Representative.

She was also a member of the Malaco group Louise Candy Davis & Faith. Noted as a civil rights activist that’s been chronicled in the Library of Congress, she’s continued working in the community with her service as the director of the Carlton Reese Memorial Choir.
