The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) held its Women of Worship Concert on June 2, 2024, in Birmingham, marking a significant milestone of 30 years since its debut. This event was a testament to the enduring legacy and influence of women in gospel music.
The concert featured a lineup of distinguished performers, including the renowned Pamela Jean Davis, celebrated for her impactful accompaniment on the classic “Order My Steps.” Eloise Ford Gaffney, Haley Mitchell-Shealey, Chin Edwards, Vickie Jeffery Harris, Cleo Standfield, and Rosalind Crawford captivated the audience, showcasing the depth and richness of gospel music traditions and talent in the city. Sherry Garrison directed multiple songs with inspiring energy.
Dr. Prince Yelder envisioned the event and served as the emcee, ensuring that the night’s performances were both spiritually uplifting and musically impeccable.
