Birmingham was represented at the 2026 Gospel Choice Music Awards as Dr. Robert Barnes and Bryant Woods and the Voices of Victory received honors during the awards weekend in Georgia.
Barnes received an Industry Award recognizing his work in gospel music and broadcasting. He is the founder and CEO of Birmingham-based WGSR Gospel Sounds Radio, an online station that promotes gospel artists, ministries and faith-based organizations.
“Thank you, Dr. Jeffery E. Holmes and The Gospel Choice Music Awards for this amazing Industry Award,” Barnes wrote on Facebook. “This is truly an honor, and I’m forever grateful.”
Bryant Woods and the Voices of Victory received the Song of the Year Award after being named among the category’s finalists. The choir also performed during the ceremony.
Led by founder Dr. Jeffery E. Holmes, the Gospel Choice Music Awards recognizes independent gospel artists, musicians, broadcasters, clergy members and other industry leaders.
