Abundant Life celebrates 30 years in music ministry, releases new project
Abundant Life Music Ministry is celebrating their anniversary with the release of the new EP “Favor Ain’t Fair.” The group was founded in 1991 by Mark & Vanessa Pettway in Birmingham, AL. “Favor Ain’t Fair” was released on November 19, 2023, during a live concert event at First Baptist Church – Zion City Church.
“Highest Praise” was an iconic project that showcased the classic community choir sound of the 90s while also inserting progressive worship themes. It was recorded in July 1995 at More Than Conquerors Faith Church and included the highly requested songs “Highest Praise”, “I Know I’ve Been Change”, and “If You Abide In Me.”
To help celebrate the release, they produced a live-streamed event, “Harmonious Journey: Celebrating 30 Years of Abundant Life Music Ministry – A Live Premier.” The founders interviewed singers and musicians who were part of the group’s past and present, then reminisced about how they built the organization and focused on ministering to the community through service as much as they did with their music.
