The competition featured 30 choirs nationwide, narrowed down to five finalists. Both Birmingham groups traveled to Dallas for the February 28 ceremony at Grace Cathedral Church of God in Christ, proudly representing the city’s strong gospel tradition.
Bryant Woods and Voices of Victory, known for their dynamic sound and powerful performances, were equally grateful for the recognition.
New Hope’s Mass Choir, directed by Mike Mays has a long history of musical excellence, including winning Steve Harvey’s Best Choir in America Award at the Hoodies in 2007. Their recent national win follows another significant recognition—the Birmingham City Council recently honored the choir for its contributions to gospel music and the community.
