COGIC A.I.M. Convention preparing for Birmingham in 2012

The largest African American Protestant denomination in the world (Church of God in Christ) is preparing for their annual A.I.M. (Auxiliaries in Ministry) convention in Birmingham, AL. It convenes July 2-6 2012 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. A.I.M. is expected to attract over 30,000 delegates for a week of training, fellowship and spiritual renewal.

Birmingham features affordable accommodations and attractions for families such as the Civil Rights district, The Birmingham Zoo, McWane Science Museum, Alabama Adventure Theme Park and Splash Beach Water Park, The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, The Birmingham Museum of Art, Riverchase Galleria (the largest enclosed mall in the Southeast) & Summit Shopping Center.

Bishop J. Drew. Sheard is the chair of the event. The economic impact for Birmingham is expected to be over $15 million.
