The news about radio talent Mz. Katt’s passing spread across social media this week after fans and friends discovered her death last Friday. Memorials were shared online and a vigil was held Sunday. Gospel artist Arthur Beard posted a message soliciting support for a “Celebration Choir” to honor Holman Monday.

Greetings (205) I normally don’t do this but I’ve been ask by the family to do a musical tribute and choir for Ms. Katt from 95.7 Jamz. Just got all the details…I need 75-100 singers to form a Celebration Choir. The funeral is Friday at Noon (12pm) at 6th Ave Baptist Church. The songs will be general gospel standards. I will give all pertinent details to the singers/choir. However, I want everything to be done DECENT and in ORDER. EXCELLENCE is the only way. Musicians are welcomed as well. Birmingham let’s come together on one accord and BE THE BLESSING!

Artists, singers and musicians responded. Arthur Beard posted this update Tuesday.

Birmingham, Alabama I love y’all…The response for “The Celebration Choir” has been overwhelming and so amazing…To the many Pastors, Leaders, Singers, Levites who are assisting me in this effort…THANK YOU. This is all about the legacy and life of Ms. Katt. She supported and pushed EVERYONE. Psalm 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in UNITY…B.A.S.I.C. During the funeral, BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) was organized to form a powerful mass choir. We know that she would have been pleased. Take a quick listen.
