UAB Gospel Choir releases compilation project, Sept. 26th

The UAB Gospel Choir has released “Legacy,” a compilation CD of the choir’s music selected from recordings over a 15-year period.

The CD, officially released Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, features selected music from the UAB Gospel Choir CDs “LIVE!,” “Lessons for Life,” “Gospel 101: GO DOMINATE!” and “Mirrors.”

The Choir has grown from 38 voices in 1995 to an average of 145. In that time, the Choir has received much national exposure. In 2008 their song “After You’ve Prayed About It” debuted at No. 23 on XM Radio’s Spirit Channel play list; two weeks later, it climbed to the No. 2 spot for six weeks. “Daily I Shall Worship Thee” was one of iTunes’ favorite gospel songs of 2008. They were also recently featured on NBC’s Today Show.
