In Memory | Bishop Charles Wood | In Words, Music, Video and Pictures

Gospel music composer, musician and pastor, Bishop Charles C. Wood III, passed away January 31,2019 at age 52. Bishop Wood founded the ICOD Ministries in Birmingham, a church that planted a Pentecostal praise seed that would become more popular decades later in local music and groups. His music was recorded by Birmingham Mass Choir, Prince Yelder & Disciples for Christ, Dr. E Laquint Weaver & Hallelujah Singers, Alabama A&M Gospel Choir and others. He leaves wife Quanita, children, sisters and brother. Read the words of artists that touched his life and listen to the music that inspired generations of gospel music leaders and musicians.

This is a recording from the 1990s of him mastering the organ during “Prayed for Me.”

He was a charismatic leader and personality that kept his congregation and audiences engaged through services and performances. Watch him action during a service.
